Simple Suspension question

The MOOG #5660 is an all around favorite spring. However, many guys end up cutting a 1/2- 1 coil out of it depending how much lower you want the car to sit.
Monte Carlo's tend to sit high with stock springs which are more than likely the F-41 variety.
The #5658 will probably lower the car a slight bit being less stiff than the 5660.

Here's a MOOG spring chart that's posted on Maliburacing.com : Hope this helps you.

oh and before anyone wastes their time if your using OEM bushings your car will not sit lower if you tighten up the suspension with the springs compressed....I have known people to try that.. :blam:

wow, i was going to say that maybe you dont have the springs completely seated in the spring pockets in the front frame rails... that can really screw things up abit.

I believe the LT1 is a fair bit lighter, my cutlass did the same thing when i swapped in a 96 vortec 350.
On my lemans im using F-body coils from a 84 z28 and a 2" spindle. F-body cargo coils in the rear as well.
