Slow cars!?

As of right now I am going to officially ban my Monte from going over the border to Canada.

That's not a bad idea. There is another law that allows the cops to seize your car if it has been modified to race. With the cage in your car that could give them cause to grab your car. My car being lowered allows them to grab it but they leave me along and go after the ricers. But the cops can be real mean, when they had pinks at an Ontario track the cops were lined up near the entrance and were seizing the drag cars they said were not roadworthy

these two vettes were eventually destroyed by the cops and 200 kph is only 120 mph. In Minnesota last week a guy got clocked at 171 mph, he got a citation and drove away.

I drive a 4 litre Jeep in the winter and it's my summer back up so if want to talk slow I bet I can lose to you in a 1/4 mile drag...🙂

I daily a 7000 pound F350 diesel, the daughter's Cherokee 4.0 feels fast in comparison when I drive it!

OMG! Aftermarket tires! Aftermarket wheels! Aftermarket exhaust! The horror!

Seriously? Aftermarket wheels and tires are "illegal equipment"? I could see the exhaust being an issue...noise, emissions, whatever. But who buys OE tires? You can't even buy OE tires most of the time, since many are engineered specifically for a given model as OE equipment, but not offered on the market for replacement.

Not condoning the drivers' actions by any means, having to weave in/out of traffic should tell your brain "not the place or time".

The report says they were weaving in and out which is not a proven fact and It's not uncommon for the cops to embellish their reports.

Geez, remind me not to come to Ontario. I can do anything I want to my cars in Saskatchewan, so far and cops are fair here.

My carb turbo 3.8, even in its worst untuned condition is far from the slowest car I've driven.

Worst- 86 AMC eagle, 4.2. Wore out, untuned. Pressing the gas pedal requested the engine to make popping sounds and not really do anything
Runner up- 01 grand am 2.4. I have never experienced a car so slow that shouldnt have been. I didnt know it was possible to be so slow. Stomp on it from idle and it wouldnt chirp a tire or anything, took like a block to go 35ish. Ive been in older 2.4's and they werent terrible.

My old 88 cherokee with a renix 4.0 would absolutely boil the rear tires at will. That jeep was deceptively fast.

I would hate to get in an old deisel volvo or mercedes from the 70's/80's. They are legendarily bad.
I was looking at old merc wagon diesel lets just say it was slow my lawnmower started off the line quicker.

Maybe it's just because we live in the world of 200 horse power four cylinder factory tubo cars with all the fancy stuff! In 1980 my turbo six was the highest rated horsepower engine you could get in a g body car. Corvette only had 20 more horsepower, wopping 195 horse! I know that our cars can be so much better with a little in proving. I guess I can justify being a weeny car because it is a some what rare option for now. When I get all my sh*t together I can change that weeny part. For those of you who don't like me changing my engine, there are like six turbo Monte's on this forum to preech too. O and when I die you can buy the car from my estate sale from my wife and put it back to original! I say just enjoy our cars if they suck or not.

Slow is driving anything with a stock 231, while trying to merge onto the highway. It's probably the only time I've yelled at car saying COME ON! COME ON! You almost have to turn on your flashers to warn people that you can't accelerate for sh*t!
Boy do I know that well. My 231 couldn't get out it's own damn way. I hated driving that thing on the highway.
