Unfortunately, this is par for the course with an old car. The mechanical parts are easy to fix, it's the body and structural problems that take the most time to fix properly.

ok i figured out how the chorme trim come off i can not find a spot where it has been leaking around the windsheild tho but it is coming from that corner some how and a big part of it is coming from the heater box or it is running down to it and it looks that way there is this plastic peace that i can not get out i dont see anyway for it to come out besides the dash coming out

Yup, you can't get it out without first removing the dash. I would run a hose around the area and see when it starts to leak. Have someone sit in the car and note when it happens.

ok found the leak it is coming from the top corner of the pass side piler and running down into the corner beside the dash and running down the kick panel to the floor so i am going to try and seal it up but i dont know what to use maybe seal acone?

so... my camaro had the same issue... running down and pooling on the floor... i sealed the windshield myself only to have it do it again...

the problem WAS the windshield seal... it was all dried out and couldn't possibly be sealed without removal... so i decided to install a new windshield and now... no more leaks... AND it looks like you need one anyway.

If you do put a new windshield in it now, I would take it out myself and CLEAN the channel really well. Get all of the rust out, and paint it with some automotive paint. You should be able to get a mismatch at the paint store for cheap that you can spray in there if you don't know what color you are going with. I stress using proper paint and prep because you will have to glue to it, and spray paint won't let the urethane glue stick to it well. I also stress the use of urethane glue as opposed to the ribbon sealer. This is because the urethane glue lets the windshield add some structural rigidity to the car and it will also hold better in an accident. I would also do the same thing to the back window. if you don't feel comfortable installing the new windshield yourself, just call a glass shop like Safelite that will come to your house once the car is ready. As always, wear safety glasses when taking out the old windshield. Glass can splinter and fly through the air while removing it. It may be a remote chance, but it could get in your eye.

well i thought about it and i just dont have the money right now for a new windshield so i put some seal acone in that corner it might still leak but it was worth a try we will see
