Just had Surface Rust. Most of the body damage on the car was from the junkyard's forklift dragging it to it's row.

Just sad.
Thanks for posting the picture. Now I feel worse..🙁.I guess it's impossible to save them all. I would've saved that one in a heartbeat. It is sad, no doubt.

I like those 240 Z, I have a friend who had one and it was a blast to drive even with the stock engine
I've driven a few. They are fun to drive...even with the stock straight 6. Could you imagine it with a warmed over smallblock?....

years ago we, well actually mostly my friends older brother, put a 327 in my MGB, the car lasted one day cause I was having so much fun showing it off against anything that stopped beside me at a red light. When we got where we were going to car doors would not open. We had a few beers and figured that the MG twisted and that's why the doors wouldn't open. After a few more beer we figured out that we could straighten the car by going backwards. The cops were not amused but back then they just made you park the car and grab a cab

a small 8 in the 240Z would turn that into a rocket....

Steve,
I would love to have a V-8 powered MGB-GT. I have seen one with a smallblock Ford...289-302. In the UK they used to produce an MGB-V-8. It used the small Rover/ Buick 215 aluminum V-8.
There used to be a nice 240Z locally. It was powered by a 327 backed by a T5...cool car indeed.

There is practically enough room in a 240Z engine compartment for a V12. A Buick GN drivetrain looks tiny in there. An LS1 240Z is definitely on my future build list if I come across a good one. For what the junkyard likely paid for this one, it could have been that car.

There is a cool SCCA club racer style 240Z that comes to cars and coffee that is LS1/T56 with 200 treadwear 275 tires all around. That would be fun.

Have you considered approaching the owner of the yard? That would be an awesome car with an LS engine in it. I'm sure you'd give Corvettes a run for their money.

The LS1 powered Z sounds like a badass machine.

Picknpull pretty much destroys the rockers of every car they get in because they use a large forklift to drop the car on rack where drain the fluids, then drain the gas tank by jamming a large pike into it, then pulling it out to make a drain. Once the fluid drained, the forklift takes another stab at the rocker panels and dumps it in the yard. Picknpull probably paid $600 for it and caused $1,500 in damage to it.

They also sell cars, but unless its a sale car, it gets trashed pretty fast. Once it goes to processing, its not worth saving.

Yeah, I forgot that they do crude things like that....that's really too bad. After having it "gone thru" with a fork lift, I guess most people would only want it for parts at that stage...and again, what a waste.
