I'm installing my new upper CAs from Speedway today. When installing how much should I torque the two bolts attaching the CA to the frame. I know you're not supposed to completely torque them down but how much is enough to get the car back on its on weight? I've read that you don't completely torque them down until the car is back on the ground and on its own weight. So I have 2 ?s...

1. what are the torque specs for the two control arms bolts while still on the stands?

2. And whats the torque specs for when the cars is back on the ground?

Thanks in advance Gbody familia..

Re: Installing Speedway Upper Control Arms

I just hand tighten mine..then put car down on ramps. Then torque them to 75 ft lbs

Bump!

I know there are a few people on here running the Speedway upper CA's...can yall chime in for me?

See the post above.

It doesn't matter what control arm you have, you need to follow the manufacturer's torque spec which is 75ft.lbs.

I'd also have to check my CSM but I don't believe those two bolts are required to have the cars weight on them before torquing. Typically that is only for bolts that go through the bushings.

what about for the lower CA's since those two bolts go through bushings??

Correct. Those don't get tightened until the full weight of the car is resting on the suspension.
