Spindle HELP

So I think that’s why they suggested a different rotor because the outer is a different size. All dimensions of the rotor still would match up with 84. So the inner seal and bearing remain the same but the outer changes, but finding the correct bearing to sit properly with enough room to tighten castle nut to spec with cotter pin in place has been the issue. I was basically told it’s an easy fix. But it’s become rocket science to me lol
Correct. The different spindles require different rotors or different inserts for the bearing races to allow using the correct bearing for that spindle.

Most people just install the bearing into the inserts/races within the rotor as it comes from the parts source & don't get into choosing what combo of internals they are going to use. That means using the correct bearing for each spindle type. One will require the SET34/A34 outer bearing w/appropriate rotor (metric spindle); one will need the SET3/A3 outer bearing w/appropriate rotor (78 spindle).

If you ordered a PAIR of spindles they should match! I myself would find the mismatch and explanation of mixing parts to solve the problem unacceptable and send them back on the vendors dime.

definitely as that has been suggested by a few others, my problem is I waited awhile for a batch of chrome/reinforced front one rear suspension. It’s more me just wanting to move forward. I have kept my stock spindles in for the meantime. I agree 100% that they should have to take care of everything on their end. I was hoping there was just a “simple” solution.

Well, I guess there's just no other choice.

Time to order a second set of the spindles, just make sure they send the opposite sides of 78/79-88, then, just buy another car, a 78 this time, so you have something to install the other spindle on, and build a second one. Then all the parts match, no more problem
