I like the Malibu Black Sterling as well but as started above they dropped the ball

Just seems like a custom shifter set up as the shifter location would be over the reverse arm on a T10.
 
I seem to recall reading about several prototypes of that Grand Am being built. There was an online ad several years ago, where the seller claimed that he had one of the prototypes, that was for sale.
