I recently installed a high end pioneer deck in my car, and when I have the car off but the ignition on, the stereo sounds great. However, when the car is running the speakers crackle. I seems to only happen when the car has been running for less than 5-10 minutes, then seems to go away. Anybody know what might be happening?
Are any of your speaker wires touching each other? Is your cd player stable?, is it moving while driving? If its sliding around there may be a problem. Maybe you have a speaker wire tied to something else. Just a few possibilities. trying to help.
Thanks, but it's stable, wires aren't touching etc. I'm thinking it must have something more to do with a short in the alternator, alternator ground or something like that
How did you wire in your deck? Did you buy one of those kits or did you splice it yourself? And also, are you using the factory speaker wire, or did you replace it?
there is usually a stud and nut in the back of the head so you can put a brace if you want. I would attach a wire to that to ground the chassis to a good source and see if that cures it...
