stock type brake upgrades

there are a number of threads about upgrading brakes but the pads are almost never mentioned. tc next time you need some pads take a look at the EBC reds. They don't fade and if you heat them up they lock onto the rotors and even when they are cold they brake better than other pads hot...

I have seen those on a few cars they are low dust, but very aggressive and put a lot of wear on the rotors.
If I was going to the track with this car I would probably consider them.
 
yeah if youre going to get pads like those EBC reds that are more aggressive, then there isn't much point in spending big money on superballer rotors, because the pads will chew them up
 
I was running EBC green but EBC now says to use the red ones for a G body so it may be that they have changed the materials in the pads. The green worked great and didn't have any bad effects on the rotors so I'll be using the reds and see whatg happens. I don't mind buying new rotors or pads if they save me on bodywork from running into someone. Brakes are one thing I will never compromise for the sake of saving a few $$$
