G body family help me out. I have an 85 Olds Cutlass Supreme thinking of going with the hotchkis upper and lower a-arms. What do you all think? Stay with the factory or go with the tubular ones. Give me your feed back. Thank you in advance.

Well first off, I'd say it really comes down to what you want out of the car. What kind of use are you building the car for? Street? Drag? Autocross? To be honest, I'd only say "go for it" if you're really into handling. For drag racing, I wouldn't spend the money. For regular street use, you could start with springs, shocks, and sway bars (which really will change the feel of the car) and then see if you wanna take things further from there.

if want great handling there is alot more involve than uppers and lowers. No criticism of Hotchkis but UMI is a supporting vendor on this forum and they try out all their parts on their own stable of cars. It wouldn't hurt to ask Ramey or Ryan of UMI what they could suggest..

You can find them on the forum. They don't usually mind giving advice.

Cool thanks to the both of you. I'll have to look more into umi.

Thanks GP and 307.

We've been having quite the fun time with our Green Machine test bed and have that platform dialed in nicely.

Thanks for the email dottelife. We're looking forward to coming up with the perfect combination for your car.

I would look into Spohn Performance as well as UMI.

We also provide a line of the G Body Performance Parts from Tubular Control Arms, tubular trailing arms, coil-overs and shocks. If you are interested we have thread on the install of our arms on our 79 Malibu viewtopic.php?t=44096#.UlLSfNzD_IV

Thanks
James
