Swapping rod and main bearings w/o crank work done?

[olds307 and 403]

I've done it on the Olds 403, lasted a long time considering. The last 2 original 76 Olds 350's had great bottom ends. Most cranks will be stamped with the oversize if ground. Try and find .001" bearings if it measures on the high end of clearance.
