Sweep gauge shift selector

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of taking my dash out as somone hacked up all the vents prior to my ownership. While I was fumbling my way thru I ended up breaking the shift selector (the little orange or red stalk) my part number is 25016404 I thought I saw somewhere that this part #25016285 would fit in its place.

When in doubt I came to the folks that have been at this for years! Thanks in advance.

Sorry it's a 78 malibu classic sedan.

If you have sweep gauges, I know what you need. I'll check with a friend who may have one.

Early on when my car had the sweep style gauge cluster and I broke the shift selector indicator, I used a (red) spray nozzle tube and glued it onto the slide portion of the selector. It did the job for as long as needed.

I believe Dixie Restoration has them. But any sweep style GM should work I’d think. Just have to adjust the placement of the clip to the column
