after bmgates's PM, I do believe this to be the real deal! I can honestly say that I've never seen or heard of a car with these installed, but that doesn't mean they're not out there.

The guy knows what he's talking about! 😉

And it looks like all the info I thought was correct about the Hurst vs. Fisher vs. C&C tops was incorrect! 😳 Even my sources were wrong!

Thanks for the info bmgates!

Factory T-tops were done by C&C.

Just noticed that.... don't want to pick nits, but the factory tops were done by Hurst, at least that I'm aware of. The C&C tops were aftermarket. (believe me! Mine are C&C!) Parts (like weatherstrips etc.) for the factory tops are still readily available, although through the aftermarket now. The factory tops extend all the way to the forward roofline, where the C&C tops left about 3-4" of metal along the windshield, inside the factory tops had the plastic trim around everything, where the C&C did not. Search for my post and in my photo gallery where I replaced my headliner and had to cut it in around the C&C tops.... 😀 I've only ever seen one other C&C top car 'in the wild' and it was in a yard (of course I got what I could 😀 )

Good catch - I got that completely backwards - C&C are the aftermarket ones that sit further back like you say. I think I got them mixed up because they are the ones that did other GM "factory" conversions (Aeros H/O's, etc.). My bad! 😳

Awesome!

You know what cracks me up, is that the few '79 T-top Hurst/Olds were (we now know!) factory/Fisher T-Tops, you'd think Hurst would have wanted to put their own kits in! Thought of that being how the pictures in the manual are all Cutlasses.

Thanks!
