Hello everyone. I need help! The flowtech headers everyone recommended fit great on the passenger side but not at all on the driver side. I have looked high and low all over this site, googled it, and still can't find an answer to my question. Will any longtube headers work with the T5 with the factory F body hydraulic setup?
Guys have talked about it on the web but not really any part numbers were mentioned. I don't want to use shorties but I will if I have to. Any info would be great! Thanks to all!

You have the factory F body slave cylinder and tilted bellhousing?

I have Flowmaster 814110 for my car. I have an SBC with Vortec heads and will be running a T5 with mechanical linkage. They are supposed to work with the stock clutch equalizer so they might work with the hydraulic slave cylinder setup. Hopefully someone using the hydraulic setup will chime in.

I would think it's easy to make the hydraulic system work with any set of headers. The SS line is flexible and you could get a length to make it work.

I thought the exact same thing but it is not easy at all. The slave cylinder is right beside the oil filter when bolted on to the bell housing and limits a lot of room.

Yes it is and you can run a hydraulic throw out bearing to solve that problem. For me I have a 7 quart pan and run Amsoil so I remove the slave cylinder, which isn't a hard job, in the spring and do an oil change that lasts me till next spring. I had a Howe hydraulic throw out bearing that threw a seal and it cost me a tow and a new clutch disk

So you do run the slave cylinder now instead of the hydraulic bearing? I really didn't want to run a hydraulic bearing. Your headers go right around the slave with no problem and they are longtubes? Could you give me a part number? Thanks for all the input.

I'll have to look for the part number, I've had these headers on the GP for about 4 years. They are longtubes with a ball and socket collector. They sit higher than most headers so they give more ground clearance which is nice if you lower the car.

When I ran a T5 in my old Malibu I used these.

They are long tube but do not interfere with the mechanical or hydraulic linkage.
