tach in cowl hood

My brother and some friends were looking at the 4" cowl hood I picked up and one of them made a comment about putting tach in the hood where the opening is. .honestly, i dont think it would look too bad and be kinda different

Has anybody tried this or would even attempt?

thats a good idea! some kind of steel plate installed on the back of the hood to strengthen up the fiberglass in the mounting area would be a consideration. wouldn't wanna crack it or the gauge vibrate so bad that it was unreadable or inaccurate. if you do it, I'd like to see some pics!

i don't think it would be a horrible idea, but personally i would not want to be looking at my hood when i should be looking down the road. that's just my thought

i dont know about a tach, but here is a link to some cars that have put some other gauges in that area.
