K well for some reason my tach likes to read at double what my RPMs actually are. It has been like that since i have owned it. I know it is double because i hooked up another tach to the car so i knew what the revs were at because i used to have to shift the car like a standard. Now that i have a working transmission in it i have takin the tach out but it still bugs me that my tach is broken any ideas on how to fix this?? Is it possible that the wiring is messed up and connected to the wrong spot or something?? My car has a 305 with a turbo 350 if that helps at all.

take the dash out,and see if it's on 6 banger,if so,switch it to 8

and while you've got the cluster out, solder the jumper in place. these connections like to oxidize, soldering them prevents this from happening again.
apply only enough heat and time to get the solder to flow, too much of either will wreck the printed circuit.
