Hey fellas. So I am in the process of installing the deep belt system I picked up off a 2002 s10 blazer (4.3L) and I ran into an issue yesterday. This particular 406 has tall valve covers on it due to the stud girdles on top of the valves. Which in turn is not making it possible to install the P/S pump bracket on the drivers side. It hits the valve cover and will not line up with the 3 holes in the cyl head.
Any advice or experience/knowledge with this particular problem?? Appreciate it like always gentlemen..... thank you!

Pix, is there any room to shave the bracket
Here’s some pics, and I believe you would be correct cuz I am not going to have AC. So I will see if the AC delete pulley uses any of the rear holes to mount on. If not.... prob solved I think!!

Is it possible to "contour" that spot to allow clearance between the cover & bracket? Make it more rounded & that should fix that issue as long as it doesn't affect the holding force of the bolt that'll live in that spot.

If you use the serpentine bracket / pulley system from a 89-94 TBI S10 or C/K truck you won't have that problem, and it will look cleaner than that 96+ Vortec bracket you have there

If that bracket doesn't fit properly, i doubt the a/c compressor will fit.

in that last picture it looks close to the intake,it could be just the angle though if it wasn't stopped by the cover would it clear the intake?
