Oh yeah I've got a close to 400 horse 350 built in my lemans lost interest in it, don't know how to retime sbc motors. I can do Diesel though.

so i'm selling the motor/trans it's only 180 degrees off from top dead center to run.

If it was a chevy bolt pattern mine would have been gone the day I posted it for sale, but all the roundy round guys dont want it since they run SBC

The few BOP drag racers that have been interested dont want the lockup converter which mine has for some unknown reason. I told them just put a non LU converter in but couldn't convince them.
where you talking about engine and trans for free? Would be worth it too be... except im a good 16 hrs from you.

How is any of this possible?

How can you have a 400 horse 350 if it runs 180 degrees off and you can't time it.
I didn't build the motor... Bought it from a guy who built it for his Monte Carlo SS. I moved the Distributor one day or something and It moved it out of timing.
Like I said I can time diesels. I don't know gasoline

Any repair manual should have instructions on how to do it, there's also probably hundreds of videos on you tube as well. It's not rocket science, unless its an Oldsmobile 😎.

A 10 minute YouTube video and a $30 timing light from Harbor Freight would be a pretty simple solution.

Problem is, you are trying to rape your Pontiac with a Chevy motor and it is putting up a struggle🙂. Seriously though add dual exhaust with quiet mufflers and maybe rebuild the carb along with a complete tune up for the 3.8 if you are looking for mileage. I was pleasantly surprised by the Olds 260 I am running, same hp but 20 more ft/lbs of torque.
