The 4.3 with two extra head bolts and a factory water fuel separator made a huge difference in reliability. The headers and dual exhaust put my 260 on par with a factory vin Y 307.

If you want a sex cylinder, drop a Series 2 in it! It's a fun little engine; plan on a quick rebuild for peace of mind (I learned the hard way).
That series 2, is it something you have to be 18 or older to buy in a back ally & would it be easy to clean? But an fetish with an engine may be too much.

Series 2 3800 V6, a much improved version of the stock V6 you want.

Jeez, not asking for much, are ya?
So, just so my scorecard is right, you want an n/a v6, either diesel or gas, with an archaic induction system that makes decent power. Sweet, good luck with that.
