An 84 should have both sets of holes in the frame so you should be able to just move your crossmember to the back set of holes.

If you want to run duals the Jeg's crossmember is cheap and works good. I personally like the single 3" setup with crossflow muffler on the stock crossmember.

im going to be doing this within the next month, the car was orig a 3.8, not sure what transmission, im guessing a 200metric, but anyways, i need a cheap crossmember, any ideas?

Get one from any g body that came with a 200r4. Try junkyards and post in the wanted section.

im gonna run duals, so wouldnt i need an aftermarket one? i was planning on ordering a cheap dual exhaust setup from summit/jegs but they claim not fitting on the cutlass supremes. any ideas.

I have seen the samething regarding the exhaust fitting all cutlasses except the supreme. I have no idea why it wouldn't work, I see no difference in the chassis The only thing I can think of is that it is made for sbc powered cars and I guess the Cutlasses that got a sbc from the fact weren't Supremes. But hell it wouldn't take much to get it to work on any gbody. I know the tailpipes and mufflers will work no problem. I tried a set of mcss pipes on my supreme to see what they looked like and they fit perfect.

Its a myth. There is no difference no matter what. The say that the engine is set farther to one side of the car, but its not true.

I had a 87 cutlass with the stock trans and true duals. Just ran the drivers side down the left side parallel with the right and did it that way. The drivers pipe was an extra 2 feet longer than the pass pipe. Saves a bunch of hassle and took off the cats and threw on some hollywood deeptones glass packs and it sounded badass!!! I have the same setup on my 85 grand prix right now. I can set off car alarms just by giving it a little gas 🙂

cool, the only thing id be worried about is the fact that theyre made for sbc's when i got a sbo. is it that much of a difference that they wont line up with the headers? anyone have any suggestions on good setup(headers/exhaust) for an olds 350 thats going in my cutlass?
