no rain..well its been a Lil precipitation but not enough plus i just sprayed some wd40 on the car lol... i still have to hit the car with a DA sander so it will look a lot cleaner

nothing at all just removed the old one and put that one on came off a 86 ls monte carlo

If you check out your buddy's Elky and see how his mirrors are mounted. You'll see that they're mounted a little higher up and closer to the front lower edge of the window frame.
The newer style mirrors do not share the same holes and position as the earlier sport mirrors. The El Camino uses a different base gasket than a Monte Carlo, etc. They help position the mirrors at the proper angle.
They are no longer available from GM, but I was told that the El Camino store carries re-pops of them.
