I think 86' started the 2nd version "lay down" rear spoiler and also the first year of aero mirrors, then 87'-88' was the new style rear tail lights, housings and bumper cover (which I installed on my 83')
'86 Aero's only had the lay down that year with all SS's having it for '87 & '88.

Mike, those are some nice rides!

I take it from your comments that they all aren't completed, and a coupe of them are works in progress.

I have to ask, is the spoiler on that 84 SS the correct one for the car?

Also, I can tell from reading through all of this thread that I have some long work to do to be in this group in terms of appearance. A BIG bunch of you guys have really beautiful cars!! This thread is quite inspirational for me to get my car's appearance up to snuff.
The Monte is an 85. All original low mile car. I actually put it up for sale to buy this Monte that I saw at a cruise night but the car sold before I got any bites on mine. I liked this 84 more. The 84 white was a lot brighter than my 85 and I liked the blue interior more than the burgundy. Plus it had a lot of the things that I would have done to mine but it was so original I couldnt bring myself to change it. That same year I went to Carlisle and saw a custom Malibu wagon. At that point I was hooked. I sold the Monte and bought the wagon. Drove it for a year and started missing the Monte. I hunted for a few months. Found a few that looked good in pictures but when I went to look at them they all had blown out door bottoms. It was funny because one of my friends wanted to buy the wagon really bad. Almost sold it to him but decided to keep it and tore it apart. A HUGE mistake. I should have waited until the 81 was finished. Now Ive got two projects that I need to finish. A dumb move on my part.

Whoever buys it from Mike will be getting a really clean car. I bought it from the original owners family. I dont have a picture of the front seats but you can see how clean it was. The back seat was never even farted on. LOL

Did you go "parking " by your self?
Not entirely alone. He took that bulb out of the rh taillamp for companionship.

He found it to be electrifying company.

You just need a different gen fbody. My 78 z28, not sure much. 3rd gen? Flip the back seat down, scoot the buckets forward, cargo cover in place covering the deep part near the taillights? It works.

Also helps if you stick to skinny spinners
