the green g body thread

been thinkin a lot lately about when i hope to get my next G and also how much i'd love to have somethin in a metalic green,you know the the pea soup kinda green. to been honest i hate....no LOAHTE the color green,esp dark greens like hunter or bright greens like neon green or whatever that ugly *ss chrysler color is. candy green isnt to bad on the rite car. but there is somethin about light to medium pea green metalic shades that i just love. i was also thinkin that gm must not have offered some G's in greens like saige or limefire(i think those are the correct names). esp camino's,i dont think i've ever seen a camino in any green. after an exhaustive google search i found the 2 i have posted below, but i'm sure they are repaints. or maybe special order? anyone else have pics of green g body's the origanal coler or maybe a gm code? or seen an origanal camino in a shade of metalic green that was an origanal gm color? i'll start with a few G's in the exact greens i mean and a few non G's in shades i like too.

I'm not a fan of green but I think the Malibu is probably the best green out of the bunch, it almost seems to have a slight gold hue to it.

For what its worth its not an Elco but it is a G body. This is sorta a factory GM color. 81 Buick/Olds only color Dark Jadestone Metallic.I found the color the local parts store mixed wasnt what I wanted so I stumbled on a Kirker paint book and saw they had Dark Jade Metallic. Its a better color than stock but still close.

Agreed that it's an 81 only color but not limited to Buick and Olds. My 81 malibu recieved it as well from the factory. Funny that color was brought up, my disrtict GM manager saw my car one day in passing, pinned the year of it just by the color, needless to say I was shocked, and I have a little more respect for him now, as not just a "cluless suit and tie" like most of them I've dealt with 8) .

I love green, it's funny, most people DON'T like pea green, but they like all the others. Not a G-body, but I had a 1970 Cadillac in a color called Bayberry Green, don't know if this close to what you're talking about. (It was a bit lighter than it looks in this picture) I found an environmentalist sticker that said "Green Is Good" and had that in the back window. Very appropriate.

i just did a custom paint job on a bike in the new camaro green and didn't like it at first but after the chrome was installed i fell in love with it
