BUILD THREAD “The Juggernaut”

Wow. More nice work Donovan. Just my $0.02, but you've done so many custom touches so far, that I would say to eliminate the bump, and make it smooth all the way across. Would you have to do any work on the tail panel, "massaging" it, to make sure that the top is perfectly flat to the pinch weld, all the way across?

My vote is to keep the bump. It looks more stock which makes the mod more subtle. Also, the filler piece is probably stronger with it, than without it. Awesome work Donovan!

That's incredible, man. I could also go either way with the bump because you're right, it does add a little visual excitement in a vast expanse of flatness. Sorry I'm no help.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I really do appreciate them. I’m starting to lean more towards removing the bump and keeping it streamlined. There’s nothing on the car that doesn’t have a purpose, so why should this area be any different right? Removing it won’t be much more labor intensive than keeping it and closing in the backside.

I will double check that there is enough room to get the license plate light in and out of its current opening, thanks for the reminder. Positioning it just right to start the screws might be a little tricky, but should still be possible.

I’ve already put some thought into the rear taillight harness and how it will be routed, I’m going to be running it inside the trunk and behind a valence like the modern cars are done. I will have 3 pass-through points, one behind each taillight and one in the middle for the reverse and plate lights.

The connectors will all be Deutsch, and inside the car. They will pass through grommets so that very little is exposed outside the car.

Appreciate the input and thoughts guys!
