OK here's the plan: you get smart from Donovan, then dream up a reason to vacation in CO and pass it on to me.
Sorry I wasn’t able to get more done in the time I had there Duke. But bodywork can be very time consuming, and the roof especially is a very large and difficult panel to work on.
However I hope I gave you the minor direction shift you needed to be better equipped and knowledgeable about what you’re doing, as well as provided you a very solid foundation on the passenger side roof which you’ll be able to run with now.
Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or if there’s anything else I can help with.
D.
Oh and by the way guys, the turbo LS monster lurking underneath the stock hood is a sight to behold and hear. The pictures DEFINITELY don’t do it justice. It’s so much more impressive in person. This thing is going to be an absolute unholy terror when he fully unleashes it!!!
😱😱
You are very lucky! I would pay good money to have his expertise for a few hours! Thanks again for the help D. You've definitely got me moving in the right direction. Theres going to be some really positive progress coming up now.
It was my G-Body forum Christmas gift, I'm sure. You are very lucky! I would pay good money to have his expertise for a few hours!
Excellent work. Can you explain the use of filler over bare metal on the roof? I thought epoxy primer would be first? Confused...
Hey if Donovan says it's good then send it !!! Is that a fiber infused filler?Donovan suggest this method. I did some research and the filler bonds better to 40 grit prepped metal than to an epoxy or 2k primer due to better mechanical bonding. I also believe that the roof top wont be as prone to water intrusion, I think I would consider filler over primer on lower panels or rockers for that reason. Hopefully he chimes in to give a more experienced view.
