Finished blocking the roof out to 180 today. Didnt have enough time to do anything else but the roof is pretty damn straight.

Got a few small imperfections to address and itll be time to shoot some primer on it. I'll finish the C and B pillars first and probably shoot it all at once with the epoxy.

Glad it's done though. I think it's a milestone.

Way to go! It's a milestone for sure

Got a little midnight update on my progress today. The only good thing about shift work is the transition to nights, no one is up to distract me.

Working on the inner wheelhouse lip to get it buttoned up. Not going back to the roof until the dry guide coat I have ordered is here. First off make up some templates for the peices to cut.

Cut the three sections out and start the fitting process.

Second piece cut and fit.

All three cut out and cleaned up. Mix up some epoxy primer and put 2 layers on prior to welding.

For the most part it welded in nicely, had a few burn holes where the original metal was pretty pitted, despite cutting all the bad looking stuff out. This is mid way.

A little further along...

I'll get back to smoothing it out and coat with epoxy before cutting the wheelhouse piece to cover. Coming along nicely.

And now smoothed out, epoxied and ready for the wheelhouse skin.

Also used the leftover primer to add a second coat to the trunk drop and rear section of the trunk for when the fender patch goes back on.

I'll have to scuff off the areas to weld but at least it will all have epoxy on it this time. I'll scuff when I punch the holes in the panel and do the final fit up.

Seems this was the good side. I started pulling the wheel well trim off the other side and found this.

Right on...

Progress looks great Duke. I'll just add the obvious. Sanding sucks. Sanding epoxy really sucks. It gums up the paper and if you don't go to new paper, the gummed up area starts gouging. I hate sanding.

I didn't think you could sand epoxy???

Got the repair on the drivers inner wheelhouse 90% done today.

I didnt get all the steps photographed but it's a repeat of the above steps.

Anyway. Here is where she sits right now. Not fully welded out yet but I'm pretty happy with how it's looking. The back half of the repair is surface prepped for epoxy and ground down. Just need to finish welding out the middle. I'll need to redo the paint on the section of frame as it took a beating, but that's minor.

I'm debating on cutting out the front lip as well. It doesnt feel good. I know if I open it up I'll be in deep, so Schrodinger's cat kinda, if I dont see it is it even there?

The bad stuff is dealt with. On this side anyway.

Schrodinger's cat.... now that's going down the trippy rabbit hole... and I thought I was the only one digging on that stuff

I think its diminishing returns. I am pretty sure the whole panel seam from the floor panel back to the wheelhouse has a rust problem brewing. But it's going to be a garage kept queen, and if I use some rust killer in the seam before sealing it should be ok, i think. Otherwise i might as well buy another Arizona body and start over because it will be never ending. Bet placed and we shall see how it plays out.

I'm sure more of us here have messed up thinking boxes upstairs lol.
You spending a lot of time with Turna lately? 😂
