My grandson who is 12 sells the eggs from the chickens that he takes care of, he is saving up for a dirt bike. They live in farm land and their road is not a busy one even without covid-19 and he leaved the eggs with a box for payment at the end of the driveway. Some lowlife the other day took all the money out of the box which was close to $20. It's too bad my son's dogs were not wandering around, he has two African Bull Mastiffs and they look menacing if you don't know they are gentle beasts. So today taking a break on the GP I helped him modify the box with cutting slot to drop the money in and we put a latch with a lock. Sad that a 12 year old has to learn about the creeps that roam this planet. The other problem with a locked box is with the open box people would be able to take their change if they didn't have the exact amount
And on a side note if any of you know the Country Sisters restaurant on 86 that is or was on the corner of my son's road burnt down on March 30. It was run by the Menonites and it was a favorite of many truck drivers, cops and everyone else who ate there once.
this is what it looked like
this was their $6.50 breakfast,..;
this is what is left of it
