well after I bought my car only the interior light and the ignition buzzer worked,as well as my crappy aftermarket stereo..no signals or dash lights..so the local mechanic played around in it and ordered a Rheostat for the wiper switch..got it back and the stuff that worked didn't and my dash lights flickered..then I got a lil puff of smaoke and burning smell coming from wiper switch area..so I shut her down and decided to repace the circuit bord and put new bulbs in as per my 79 caballero service manual..yay,the dash lights worked..still no key in ignition buzzer or stereo etc..was putting my gauge cluster back and was pretty happy my signal indicators work etc..and theres that damb lil tendril of smoke coming up from the wiper switch area!....now what! No clue what it could be..pulled the plug on the rheostat to find one plactic prong area a bit melted..but don't know if that's a old injury..lol..any thoughts?? thanks
