Wow... Natasha's Colorado is almost at 50K miles. Goofy hat here I come!

But, the monthly payment is pretty significant between the F150 and SDs.

I'd guess there's some low interest financing incentive for those with an 850+ credit score at work there... maybe some different cash rebates, who knows. Also the weird online thing added random equiptment.

The normal person gets the same finance rate through their local bank regardless of brand or trim they buy so that's also fairly meaningless. Very very few buyers qualify for those highest tier rates. Trade ins, loyalty, conquer incentives, region, all that could throw that even further out. One way or another. You could go even further and get costCo discounts that may differ trim or model to another.

Point is, list price, msrp, at the same trim level, no longer a real price differential between a 1/2 ton and better truck.

Many more long steppers were sold than you think. Many, in some instances most, municipal, fleet, railroad, and utility trucks in the eligibpe yeats and weight classes were ordered that way to help cut down on overloading the beds.

Personally, I'd buy one. Then again, when it comes to 73-80 trucks, I've owned several as well.

It's a personal taste, but, they look nice with a side mount spare and tutone paint.

Sure, if you are paying cash. Financing and payment plans is what kills people.

I actually kinda like the stepside. I wish they'd have done something a little more modern with the tailgate and the tail lights, but overall I think it looks cool. Pricing aside, would I buy one? Probably not, but if I saw one going down the road I'd turn my head and say "Cool!"

Point taken. I'd challenge you to read the fine print on those offers and let me know what they say. I didn't input any financing terms, since I wasn't trying to price financing. It's equally possible that one build had clicked a 36 month term and another build clicked a 60 month term.

Usually there are shorter terms offered on premium vehicles since the production costs/initial investment by the manufacturer is higher and they need to recoup it faster in order to turn a (higher) profit.

One reason we did not end up with a CTS-V c.2015.

Speaking of trucks... in a thread with old school overtones... we pulled the valve cover off the 41 year old straight 6 for the first time today.

No sludge, no visible deposit buildup... I'm thinking she's good for the next 41 years??

Doesn't cost no 50k either

Want to buy my 11 CTS-V Coupe? Super hard to find a 15 V coupe.

LOL. Gotta pass, we wanted to order a wagon - GM has its head up its *ss with how high it holds Cadillac - so we built one instead.

Don't blame you. Wish they made a 15 V wagon or even a V3 wagon but sedan is all you get now. I tried so hard to find a V wagon but everyone wanted $65k+ for a recaros and 6 speed wagon.
