Wow I can't believe how far this thread really went considering you didn't even race the guy. My opinion is the honda would win. Disagree? Take him on then. I'm speaking from experience - the experience of coming down highway 12 nearing 110mph trying to prevent a turbo civic with a wing from passing and suddenly hearing / realizing he's shifting into fifth gear waving goodbye and watching him avoid death by headon collision with a mac truck with complete confidence as I shrank back in the cabin of my MC utterly disgraced. I love our cars but it's 2014 guys deal with it. I fail to understand why anyone would 'hate' a ricer for drag racing a Honda when clearly it's talents would be better suited to cornering at the track or drifting. We've got a Honda CR-V outside about to turn 300,000 miles and when it does I'll post a screenshot to prove it. Why anyone would even want to race such a reliable brand and cause premature death to a car that can live to more than a quarter million miles with virtually no maintenance is beyond me. I would never envy someone stupid enough to be drag racing Hondas because if we both crashed at the same time I suspect I could get out of the Cutlass virtually unharmed and stand there watching the Honda driver leave on a stretcher... Sure the honda does good in crash tests but that's only because they don't launch the Honda into the wall full throttle like would be happening in a drag race. Even with a roll cage I doubt the flimsy panels of a civic can live up to the expectations of a bad crash compared to a g-body. I would go so far as to even bet a honda with a mild roll cage would still fare worse in a crash than a stock g-body with no cage... whats to envy? For all the lack of weight/momentum is the sacrifice of safety. A sacrifice I would never make!
