I think the biggest drawback is if you ever decide to sell the car.

Next owner might not take kindly to failing emissions for a non refereed "engine change" and the shops you know may not take kindly to you selling a car on a sniffer test they slipped through for you

I think we should sell California to pay off our deficit. If I had to live there I would definitely go with an E rod package. Take the stress out of this and improve the resale value of your car. You won’t be guessing if you’ll pass inspection.

If it wasn't for the beautiful weather and ALL of my family out here I would be gone in a heartbeat! Wow that E-rod package sure has come down in price, still a ways out of budget but very intriguing.
