Tilting when turning, sitting crooked

That happened to me once,,,i would cut the wheel to take a corner and the whole front of the car would dip really low and make a clunk sound,,it was the stabilizer links, one of them broke in half,,the car will still drive but will dip when cornering. look underneath and follow the front sway bar to the end of it,, there should be a long bolt with rubber bushings in between holding the sway bar in place,,,check to see if they are there and not broken or the rubber bushings deteriorated or squished,,if so replace them with polyurethane ones,,,they're better!! That should do it :wink:
 
My guess is sagging, old springs.
 
if it only dips a little with you out of the car, turning the wheel, and tilts alot with you in the car, turning the wheel, its most likely springs. remember the shock is only a damper, if the springs are broken or worn it'll still sway and dip. i also had both front springs broken at the LCA pocket and never noticed 'till i pulled them out. (ironically my front end sat too high--WTF? :? ) what kind of shocks did you use? did the problem change at all when you installed them?
just to be safe, jack up the front of the car (both wheels, use jackstands under the frame.) and with the steering unlocked, grasp the tires on the sides and carefully wiggle them back and forth looking for play in the tie rod ends, and for binding in the ball joints (turn the wheels lock to lock for the BJ's). next, grasp the top and bottom of the tires and wiggle them, looking for excessive play. now place a pry bar under the tire and lever up and down. you may want a second person to be your eyes for this. look to see if the spindle moves vertically on the ball joints.
is it when you turn the wheels right, the left side goes up, or turn right-right side up?
the squeal when you hit the steering stop is normal. you don't have to worry about it.

When i turn right the right side goes up and when i turn left the left side goes up just like you expect obviously because of gravity but it just does it more than it should. And its only when i am moving and turning, it doesnt tilt if im just sitting in the car at a stand still and turning the streering wheel
 
It sounds like you have standard G body suspension then! Most G bodies were very softly sprung when new, as most Americans did not seem to want to feel like they were actually in a car while driving back then. They drive much like a Crown Vic or Town Car does today, with absolutely no road feel at all except if it has the sport suspension, then it has a little road feel. My Cutlass, when it was stock, was easily the worst handling car I had ever driven. Now, it is one of the best, but I have changed almost everything. I even plan to change more in the not too distant future as I am not old enough to want a car that handles like a water bed. This is not a bad handling chassis, it just has bad factory tuning to comply with the bad taste of many consumers.
 
thats not alot of information, most likely it a combination of things depending on the age and upkeep. You probly would want to start with checking your springs and shocks. Also maybe a swaybar issue. You need to get it up on a lift and look around.
 
As the original owner of a 78 GP, I can tell you I don't want to feel the road. I want a comfy seat and a boulevard ride. You want road? Buy a Pinto.
 
Well, I have 700+psi front springs in mine and like it a lot better than the stockers that were what, 350 psi? I like to drive twisty curving back roads at twice the posted speed limit to see how far I can push the car. My favorite thing is finding someone else out there with a sport bike or a BMW M3 and then try to keep on their *ss through the corners. I would like to see over 1g of lateral acceleration on a skid pad and 70+mph through a 300ft slalom.
 
I have been searching around on the internet for some good springs for my car but none of them say the amount of psi they have could some one link to me to a site that with springs i should get
