Yeah, the factory coils suck. Most of the aftermarket coils are better. I run a Accel super coil. With your total a 38 sounds about right. Most importantly is how does it feel at that setting?.

That's great! Your carb probably needs a rebuild. Is it leaking from the primary butterfly axle? Most rebuild kits have a bushing to fix that.
