Sorry for this but I think it's time for a dose of positive-
I've purchased parts for my olds from a number of people, including some on this forum. I've gotten a few things from both 88hurstolds and tobyp. Let me say both are excellent sellers and the condition of the items I received far exceeded my expectations. I even bought the car itself from qs442, another member of this forum. And that was a great experience too. All fair and honest people I would buy from again in a heartbeat. We are a community of enthusiasts, car people, collectors, whatever we want to call it and the great thing about this forum is how everyone genuinely wants to help each other. That is what sets this forum apart from the probably hundreds of others out there. I know I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have on my project without it. So I'd like to encourage those who posted on here some problems/bad feelings/disgust to maybe talk it out in PM's or a phone call one on one, and see if it can be resolved. I'm not sure what happened but it's probably something that can be resolved reasonably. I'll get off my soapbox now and get back to posting Bitstrips of my wife and kids on Facebook.

Well said. I have also got parts from Tobyp and Recently did a deal with Brian from Gbodyparts. Brian was always quick to answer my emails and seems like a strait up guy. He even offered me a JOB i would have taken him up on it if i wasnt more the halfway through my 25 need to get a full boat pension. I wouldnt think twice about dealing with them again and I am sure i will.

I didn't come flat out and make this an issue as some are turning this into or badgering me over for stating the truth and calling people out.
Things are not as what they claim at GBP and I was treated poorly when I was completely professional.
All I did was state facts but it seems that is harracy to some.
Brian didn't do what he said he would do for me then made a false accusation defaming my character and slinging lies which is of poor business practices, instead of being professional about it.
And I'm the bad guy here...
I wouldn't have mentioned it if it weren't the fact that I am not the only this happened to as I found out and I am sure there are others.
Be fair about shipping and address customer issues in a professional manner and things will be fine, that goes with any business...

Bring it back on topic. The OP simply asked if they were doors from Toby's company. Another party said something about GBP And it went downhill from there.
Toby also represents GBP according to his other posts, he asked for others to let them know if they are getting beat up on pricing therefore expanding the topic.
Goodmark is a distributor, the products they sell are not exclusive to GBP and therefore market competition ensues.
I'm not here to start issues, it's a public forum for discussion and sometimes the truth is not always taken well.

When your part was delivered to a different address I apologized in an e-mail & said you are correct they pulled up the shipping address we had on file. My data entry people made a mistake.
That is what a man does. Admits there was a mistake. A man does Not lie to pay pal stating the part didn't fit & then return it damaged.
So if you want to say I am stating your less then a man say that, but do not say " they expect top notch customer service and not excuses or mud slinging as I just experienced"
That wasn't true. You bent it shipped it back did a charge back & lied.
We will never have this problem because we will never sell to you, communicate, or be a part of your theatrics ever again.
Any one who has dealt with your e-mails knows you. That is the trurth.

Personal bodily harm geared towards me sparked by comments made by someone in my FS post and it was not dealt with properly. You are very aware of that... spin it anyway you want to.
I don't start issues, I post facts and call out flakes and am not afraid to do it.
It becomes an issue when the person being called out doesn't address it properly or handle it well.
I make sure that fairness happens in the community and I'm not afraid to call out people on it, if I make a few enemies then so be it, I am not here for a popularity contest.
I am here to help others restore their Oldsmobiles and provide the best information in doing so.
If no one did this then more people would be getting bad advice, ripped off, blown up engines or whatever else negative may ensue.
I think most get my point and wind up being cautious of those that have issues with those who point out the issues or handle them poorly.
If you play a fair game then there are no issues... if you don't then someone is always going to point them out.

All you had to do was hold to your word like you said you would do in refunding the difference in shipping, instead you wrote me off like you did to me in the past with another purchase.
Remember the damaged gray floor shift steering column you sent to me for my '87 442 in 2004 and said you would send the parts to fix but never did?
Weeks went by, nothing was done, never heard back from you ever again and I wasn't about to let that happen again so I returned the merchandise and went with another vendor.
Looks like you have now finally addressed the shipping issue, glad to see something come out of this thread.
Remember there are no issues when people are fair with each other and do what they say they are going to do.
