Right now where I’m at in Alberta it’s - 38 Celsius,or - 36.4 Fahrenheit.
That’s without the windchill.

I made the 7 hour round trip to get my motor from my buddies house. It warmed up when I took this pic. Was -33C (-27f for the imperial guys) when I left home. Cold sucks the fun out of everything.

Dear god that is cold. It was 5F here and I could barely get the garage to 60. I ended up taping my roof vent holes shut just to get it above 45.

Stay safe guys. Hearng your stories reminds me why I put up with the summers here in Houston.

and these southerners wonder why us yankees never seem to go back north.... guess I'll keep it a mystery to them!

-40°C here again. Evidently Ottawa is the coldest capital city in the World. FML.

Oh well, at least I have a heated garage to play in.

Having dealt with 29 Winters when I lived in New England, I can understand the need to stay safe in such bitter cold.

The coldest I can recall was a -5 temp with wind chill. Remember how our dogs took very quick bathroom breaks outside. A few of us with unattached garages had space heaters to make sure the cars would start. Luckily I had electricity in my garage and through the cold spell we had no issues with pipes, falling on ice, etc. One local school had a pipe burst and turned the parking lot into a skating rink. It was a brutal Winter that year where I believe we did not go above freezing for 40 plus days. I was working nights at a school and the parking lot had to be sanded every day and the dirt dragged in constantly. Plus the college I was at had my courses across the campus and I froze my butt off that semester.

Now at the other end of the spectrum our temps in Southern AZ will hit above 80 degrees today and mid 70’s next 7 days. So instead of frostbite I have to worry about sunburn! I never would have ended up here unless some relatives transferred down here for work, but I do not miss the bitter cold one bit.

"Baby it's cold outside" and as usual Murphy's Law steps in. My Daughter is in from NC and her 2010 Yukon throws a stabilitrak failure and a reduced engine power. Sure am grateful for my heated garage. Now to fix it.

Yeah -30C or -22F this week in Saskatchewan. As shown by the -38 in no doubt Northern Alberta, it gets more awesome, the more North you go. If Santa Clause was real and had those resources, he would be in Florida in December. We are talking -70C being possible for the North Pole. Up to this week, it has been warm enough that ice fishing was a risky venture. Our reservoir being a sheltered body of water was probably safe but I am not risking it. I saw a guy moving a shack down with a 3/4 ton that you drive on the local lake, which is a dammed off river. People are idiots.

I am grateful for being in the teens here in MI, not the negatives like some other places!

I don't hear anyone here actually complaining about the temps, just stating them...

But whenever I hear someone actually complaining how much they hate the cold and snow, I just tell them to move or STFU! They don't normally complain to me after that!
