Torque converter not unlocking

The tv cable sticking I don't feel that I can blame them. The detent wire that sticks through the transmission case was rubbing on the inside of the housing of the tv cable where it bolts to the trans. I think this happened cause I used a cheap universal aftermarket cable. Other than that and the tcc lockup now I've had no issues and the shop has been great with working with me and answering questions so far. Hopefully my opinion of them doesn't change after I call today.

that's not their fault, thanks for clearing that up for me. It does sound like the shop will talk to you so that's a good sign. So many shops won't back up their work after the tail lights have left the lot.

Just got off the phone with them. They said 3 things it could be. Apparently there's a little filter after the TCC solenoid and it could have debris or be plugged, possibly have a plug in trans cooler line thats restricting flow, or the solenoid itself. I dont think it the trans cooler lines because I checked the pressures at the test port when setting the tv cable and all were higher than stock. They told me to try driving down the highway and before the car gets warm constantly lock and unlock the converter to hopefully unblock the filter if it's get debris in it. If that doesnt work they're going to send a new solenoid.

It's Midwest Converters in Rockford ILLIINIOS. I was a little leary about going through them at first because I found the add for them through craigslist. I found a couple good reviews on some other forums and decided to try them out. Very satisfied with them so far and would definitely recommend them.

Just drove the car to work. About 20 mile drive highway and interstate. Lockup and unlock worked if I kept flipping the switch. Once I left it locked for a couple minutes and went to turn it off and it wouldn't unlock. Called Midwest Converters and they are sending me a new solenoid free of charge. They said it should be to me tomorrow. Hopefully that fixes the problem. Im really glad I installed the drain plug in the pan this is the 3rd time dropping it now.

Finally got around to installing the new solenoid this weekend. Took the car for a 45 minute highway drive and everything worked correctly. Well I shouldnt say everything. My transmission pan gasket is leaking once again. I don't know what Im doing wrong but I can't get the thing to seal. I put the sealing surface on my work bench and took a hammer around the edges to make sure it was flat. It always seems to leak in the same spot. On the passenger side at the front of the trans towards the motor. I'm getting to the point where I might just take the thing in to get it done.

Can you get a cork gasket for the pan, the transmission guys I know always want to use cork gaskets on the pan.

The only cork gasket I've found I'd have to order through ebay. Saturday I went to Oriellys auto, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, and Car Quest, and nobody even had a gasket for a 200-4r. I have a roll of cork at home I could try to make a gasket but its really thin. The thickness is probably .100" Is that to thin?
