You won't know till you start the car, as far as the leak goes.

Ok, I would still shim the converter. Do you remember how deep the converter notches for the pump gears are? Frankly, I wouldn't, go by what they told you..if it leaks they will say sorry or deny saying that. Now is the time or you can take your chances...shimming will definitely not harm anything.. Shimming is simply replacing the metal that was cut out when it was rebuilt. Tim

how much would I shim? 5/16 gap there

TCI says do not shim? too many opinions here not sure who is correct?

Monster Transmission says just bolt it up

TCI says don't shim but they also say 1/4 inch should be the max gap you should have

other posts online say 3/16 to 1/4 inch max

not sure what to do?

shiming the converter is not a hard job though unbolt the converter from flexplate and slide it back twards trans pump and install shims then slide converter
