Way over priced!

Yeah you can have a pretty good setup for a 1/3 of that price...

Looks good to me, $10 cheaper at summit, I would like to see the $490 setup 79loserbluebu is talking about.

I was fortunate to find the same kit (plus shocks and airbags) new in box on cr@igslist awhile back for $900 total. Installed it on my 87 El Camino. I liked it enough that i want to get the same kit for my 71 El Camino. It's a nice setup but i definitely wouldn't buy it from OPGI. It's a pretty heavy and big setup and they'll ream you for shipping/handling.

Streetsideauto has all the individual pieces of the kit (1601,2201,1802A,1902) for the same price but you can get a 10% off coupon and free shipping.

3rd gen hollow front sway bar - $50
Sway bar bushing kit - $45
C3Fab boxed lowers, tubular uppers - $250 (used to be cheaper actually)
Bilstein rear shocks - $145

Honestly if you are about to spend $1500 on a suspension kit, which is nice (not $1500 nice) then you should upgrade your tires and wheels before then. The stock wheel/tire combo has a huge sidewall and if you are wanting better feel on the road, that's the place that I'd start first. And I did going from my 215/65/15 to a 245/50/16 and it made the world of a difference. Of course you would want front shocks as well to go with the rears, but if you are on a budget you can always use the rears only. I have yet to even put my front Bilsteins on but I already know the next G-body I have will without a doubt be getting Bilsteins.

Exactly! Wheels and tires are THE biggest bang for your buck. Yes, the rest of the suspension system needs to be addressed however you won't notice such a dramatic improvement like you will with the larger rims/tires.

Most of the stuff in these "kits" from places like Hotchkis are just brand new reproduction of other factory pieces from other factory cars. It's ridiculous to pay $200-$300 for stock style front and rear sway bars when there are so many cars out there you can pull one from or purchase off ebay for next to nothing.

The same goes for the expensive brake upgrades from BAER Brakes. Some of their more high-end kits your not neccessarily going to find on a junkyard car but their Track System they have listed are nothing more than Corvette front and rear brakes that you can find pretty much anywhere at half the price.

You forgot a set of MOOG replacement springs. Springs for a Monza fit and are trimmable to your desired height. Cost around $50-$60/pr.

Ah yes. My springs sat perfect once I put the 16's on so I never even touched them. Don't fix it if it's not broken.

On the brakes I kind of disagree about the brake kits companies offer. Those kits are designed to be used with the stock master/prop valve unless noted. But ideally comparing a $300 setup to a $1300 brake setup, your really in the same boat as the suspension debate.

Acutally most include a disc brake proportioning valve or an adjustable one so really they just need to work with the master cylinder. Which the Corvette setup does. Look at what calipers are used on the BAER track system. They are just PBR calipers, they same ones used on F-body's and Corvette's for years.

When it comes to their price, all your really paying for is the time and effort they spent putting together a "bolt-on" package. But with the multitude of brake brackets out on the market now, it cuts the cost way down.
