I was just going to say when I saw that block hanging I was like- there's an easier way...but now you fixed that. 🙂

Considering LS technology is 20+ years old now, plenty of tune-experienced folks are out there for your car. Even canned tunes are better than they used to be.

Rad-*ss and bad *ss. Liking that old-school Pontiac blue!

Thanks the Pontiac blue was my little way to throw some old school into this Trans am. I normally am more for older engines but i have to say this LS actually has been a pleasure to work on. Little things like the metal lined gaskets that make everything so easy to assemble have been great.

I read somewhere that those roofs were an appearance problem when the cars were new. I don't think they were body color from the factory. It's my guess you are dealing with an attempt to repair that issue.
I know first hand about the bubbling roof issue. It was because of the adhesive they used underneath. Had both 2002 Camaros fixed under warranty due to that. GM didn't recommend sanding down and repainting because it would just come back. Replacement was the only cure. The factory adhesive chemicals basically eat through the plastic from the other side. You could "see" the basic outline of where the adhesive lines were put down, plus the squiggly line on the top. Shitty process to be sure.
Ours were hardtops, but when the outer skin came off, you can see it's already 1/2 way done for T-top. The "filler" you see is actually the top side of the friggin' headliner.

Its actually kind of amazing how close the hardtops were to being T top in those pictures. Almost looks like a few cuts and you could slide the tops in. GM really wanted to make it easy to do. I guess i will give it a shot and see how much of an effect it has. Thinking of laying down fiberglass reinforced filler so maybe that might give it a chance at holding once i rough the surface up and the vinyl wrap im putting on the roof bar is slightly breathable so fingers crossed.

I always thought the solution to this was finding a roof top off a 93-97 car?

The issue really was the fact they cheaped out even more and didn't paint or coat the panel underneath. They stopped doing that in 1998 sometime, and subsequent models suffered this fate. Hard top or T-top. Didn't matter. This bullshit about not driving the car in the sun doesn't matter because my SS spent most of its time in the garage and it STILL did it. Here, buy our car, just drive it at night. haha
