Did the entire oil change drained all the old got a new filter.
Dropped the trans pan drained the fluid replaced the filter and the gasket.
That makes all new gaskets and brand new fluids.
I have a question though, The transmission cable hooks to the pan and you screw it in, But for some odd reason it doesn't want to screw in I have the gasket on right I can see the screw trying to going but it wont screw.
It will not tighten up it just screws and then falls out.
I am wondering what I could do to fix this I have one screw in but the other is the one that wont go in.
Also had a guy come over and he Said he definitely want's my car for 2000 hes just got to wait for taxes I know hes not saying this he was very very pleased and interested.
So I was wondering that sound like a good deal??

Are you willing to let it go for that? Different areas and different people are willing to pay more/less. I can tell you in my area I can pick up decent g bodys very cheap. My 79 cost 900 dollars and had under 100k original miles. My 84 t top car with a 68 toronado 455 olds with headers cost 600 bucks. Both of these cars were nice. The 79 was mint. Moonroof, needed nothing.

and the 84 missing some trim and mismatched wheels but other than that no rust.

In my area if you got 2k you would be doing really well. So in my opinion I would take it. However, if you take 2k and have to turn around and add 2k with it to get a nice one like my 79 then its not really worth taking. I know you have a lot of money into it. So it kinda is up to you whether you want to dump a bunch more money into it and never get it back out, cuz you rarely get your money back from your investment when it comes to cars.

Both of them are absolutely gorgeous, and what a DEAL on both.
I dream of deals like this, I would sell if I could find deals like that around here, Heck I would buy both just cause I have it.
Especially the 84 ttop my dream is to have ttops.

So you think I should jump on it?

If you are wanting to replace that car with a nicer g body then be sure they go for that price where your at. Like I said different areas bring different prices. Same with the person. You might find a good solid deal for 2k and have an instant upgrade. Or you might not be able to find anything as nice as what you have now for 2k. Shop around on craigslist, your local auto rv type catalogs and your news paper and see what those cars are going for around you. If it was me personally and I had that car up here where I lived and someone offered 2k for it I would take it.

I am already blowing up CL haha.
I am going to take it cause I know there are a few nice ones out here, for a decent price.
Thanks.

Must be nice to get deals like that...around where David and I are from, lou ky and southern in, gbodys are fairly hard to find and cost MUCH more than what you say u can get one for. sounds like you need to buy em up and head them dwn our way for a profit!

cant believe the '79 was that cheap, $4,000-5,000 car here.

you probably just lucked out on your two gbodys, I dont see that being a constant price of a "nice" gbody cutlass......JMHO

That's what i am saying they want a little to much here.
Like they have gold.
But this isn't bad at all, without seeing it in person of course. http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/2776023445.html

Ritters had a few cheapies from Michigan too. My buddy who sells cars has had tons of cheap g body cars. They just do not bring much here. The price of scrap has driven them up a little lately. Showing up with cash and knowing how to deal with someone is the key. Would you believe me if I told you that 79 sat for sale for about 4 years before I bought it. Nobody wants them around here. Just a quick craigslist pulled these up for me. I am sure they are all gone by now but in my eyes they are cheap. I really wish I had the cash for the 78. I miss my 79 so much.

There would be no money in it if you bought it here, polished it up and took it south. My buddy who sells cars has done it. Seems when you get them there they don't bring what people say they will. Ends up being a loss on your end and back to MI to sell it for cheap. Some people around here will go ape sh*t for them just not many.

These are so nice. So cheap too.
I actually went to Mi, CL to look for myself and I saw so many nice and running G-bodies on there.
It would seem easier to buy from there and drive it here.
I know it seems wild to do but it seems like the price is so much better, the looks are much better.
Yeah see some people down here if you can talk well and negotiate I am sure you can haggle with (some) people.
Mostly show them cash and most will jump on it.
But most of the time they wont even hear the sentence (will you go lower).
I cannot tell you how many times people have laughed and hung up the phone when me or my wife calls.
