i am in the process of putting a 350 / th350 (olds) setup in my 86 442 and i am having trouble with the factory crossember.... i believe i read here where you can use factory piece but the holes at the frame wont line up... do i need to get a different crossmember or modify this one?

any help will be appreciated

Rick

You need one off a TH200C or TH350 car, or basically ANY 3 speed auto G body. But why use the TH350 when you have the second best iteration of the TH200 4R right now, and it is a bolt in with the Olds 350? I would kill for your trans in my car! It has a much higher shift point (4500-5,000 RPM vs 3,000 RPM at full throttle) than the standard trans and a few internal upgrades too that make it head and shoulders above the garden variety TH200 4R. Plus, you get the best overdrive ratio of any GM automatic at 33% which will allow you to run a decent cruising RPM with the original 3.73 8.5 10 bolt axle your 442 came with.
