Trans Swap Help needed

Charlie,
You might want to look for a 200-4R out of a Monte Carlo SS, Buick T-Type ( GN), or 442/ H/O. They have the better governor and valve body . Although any 200 could be upgraded with the necessary mods.
The later the better. Like '86 up.

The frame extension can be obtained from either G-Force or Iceman...or you can probably make one with the right size square tubing. But buying one outright will save you the cutting and drilling.

A Gear Vendors unit would be nice...but they are pricey.

I am running a qjet for now but plan on a edelbrock down the road. As far as the cooler lines what needs adjusted the fitting itself or just re-bent

Re-bent.
When I swapped from the 200-4R to the TH-400, I cut the ends off in the first straight spot available coming out of the trans.
Then I tweeked the ends for the trans a little bit, bubble flared the lines, and reattached them with a small length of rubber hose.

thanks for all the info guys.... well which one should I get a 200-r4 or a 700-r4 as they are the same price and in stock form which one is stronger?

don't get the 700r4 the spacing in between 1st and sceond is to much and will have a better chance in failing in the long run
