transmission question?

Has anyone ever had any problems with the transmission cross member not lining up with a thm-350. I have just swapped in a pontiac 455 and a thm-350 which was also in the pontiac car, into my 83 cutlass and the cross member doesn't line up. Anybody have any ideas what I may have did wrong?

Pontiac engines have two types of mounts. One is slightly forward of the other. The are generally used for F bodies. Maybe your using the wrong mounts.

Did your car originally have a 2004r? If so there's your problem....If not, more info will be needed on what you did, and didn't do.

Thanks for the assistance, but after looking at the mounts I think I have them two far forward on the frame so I am going to pull the engine and move it then try all this again.
