i have a deep transmission pan on a turbo 350. i have tons of internal clearence and alot underneath. if im ripping that sensor out of the pan ive already ridded my exhaust off then. what will the vacume guage help with? the carb? where do i plum in the vacu?e line?
The vacuum gauge can help you from wasting to much gas. Watch it as you drive, the less vacuum you have, the more gas you're burning (I think that's how they work lol). I plan to put one in my car eventually.
As for your sensor out of the bottom of the pan. Don't forget that there will be pluming (or wiring) coming off of it. And it will be just dangling there under your car. After years of experience, I would just rather be safe than sorry. transmission repairs can be expensive.
Have you ever used a vacuum gauge to tune your carb? Same thing, except this would be mounted in with your other gauges. A hand held one would be better for actual tuning. This would plum into the carb.
