Well I did a search on the internet from trim nipple removal and the results were pretty bad.

So what is the best way to remove those nipples from the doors and quarters that hold the clips on that hold the wide trim GM but on these G-Body's?

Cut them? Grind them? Hammer them into oblivion?

Thanks!!

I just couldn't help it....that title got me 😛

I would say whatever keep heat down the most. Maybe cut them close, then gently grind them smooth. I'm fortunate my Cutlass doesn't have the wide trim...less rust issues and less work to smooth it all out.

I used my Dremel with a flex shaft to cut mine down since I didn't want to use anything too aggressive where I might grind into the surrounding panel. I used the cutting disc first and then sanding bands to smooth it out.

I use rivet nips there like dikes but with a straight blade dikes work to tho grab them as flush with the panel as possible grip and twist with a little practice they break off almost flush then use a 3" angle grinder with 80 and just nip off the sharp part. If you're careful you can clean up the affected areas with 180 on a da

Nipples and dikes are we still talking cars here?
