Turbo 307 idea

You should understand how the 307 came about, and what it is. Putting a turbo on it is not practical for many reasons, but the main 2 reasons is you have a poor camshaft and poor induction system for a turbo. Now if you change your cam alone, you'd "wake up" the engine right there. Upgrade your carb and for cheap you have gained some noticable horses. More work, in order, would be change or port the heads, and go from there. But a turbo is not gonna do what you expected!

sorry, this is my last joke... I promise...

... But I think the REAL issue here is, he's taking advice from people who drive Subarus :blam:

way to crush all my hopes and dreams 😢
i think its safe to say im not going to do that.

and that last joke was a little harsh

my dad has owned plenty of cars other than subarus
71 dodge charger
55 chevy
trans am
monte ss
vega
camaro berlinetta
camaro berlinetta special ordered with a v8 (sleeper)
iroc-z that my mom drove around
ford bronco, lifted with some meaty *ss tires and train horns
and his 72 road runner...im pretty sure i missed a couple.

You can't just throw on a turbo and intercooler and call it a day. Putting one on a stock 307 would just be a terrible idea. Me and my dad found a Olds 403 complete intake to oil pan for $500. It's pretty easy to find an Olds 350.

that's a cool list...

... sorry, I didn't mean to be harsh,
how very douchey of me

I'm just a jackass who trolls threads and talks sh*t... Feel free to take a jab at me, or go after my manhood. All's open

I had a friend that added the turbo from a 3.8 carburated Buick V6 to a 260 Olds in a T-bucket. Ran pretty decent, but then again at 2000 lbs anything would. Eventually swapped in a 2.3 Ford turbo and AOD

I'm interested in hearing about that Vega.

Don't know where you live, but here in the mid-Atlantic area, you can find a complete running but rusty full size Olds with a 455 and TH400 for $500-$1000. Pull the motor, part or junk the rest, and you're done.

the vega being driven by his sister most of the time.

he also had a gremlin for pizza delivery, he said it would lay tires all the way down the street
