Has anyone ever thought of using the twin turbo kit off ebay? I see quite a few of them for our cars and they seem to be the cheapest way to get massive power in a 350.

From cruising around on turbo forums, I've heard of guys using the kit, but using a different turbo successfully. I heard the only good ebay turbo is the hx45 iirc.

cheap and turbos do not go together. if you want a good, reliable, long lasting turbo set up, it will not be cheap. but the money you invest will pay off. they say you get what you pay for, if a turbo kit seems cheap, there's a reason.

Getting a little off track, I think a supercharger is a better way to go for the sbc. For about $3500, you can get a new Vortech unit with everything you need--they make them for carbs and fuel injection.

it depends on the application. for me personally i'd rather have a turbo as it's power on demand basically vs the supercharger which is always "on". that's why i like turbos so much more, the power is there when you need it, not there whether you need it or not. it makes for a more streetable car IMO.
but turbos can be used on any engine and make lots of power, same with superchargers, which one you use depends on the application and personal taste, not the engine itself.
The only thing I can say towards putting a supercharger on a 350 is when your drag racing it takes so many rpms for the thing to kick into gear.So your going to have to play catchup in order to beat me and a supercharger. So I would say go with a supercharger since it is cheaper and you will be happier then if you used a turbo!
I am all for the procharger or a classic supercharger. Turbos are for tuners...no offense. I have a buddy that swears by blow-through turbo's on carburetors on chevys all day though. I'd rather not though.
my plan for the next year is to do a single turbo. prochargers and stuff are nice but WAY outta my budget. 3500 for that kit doesnt include the $1000 carb either or the stuff for the timing atleast no kit iver ever seen. i dont plan on bein anywhere near spending 3500 bucks on a turbo setup. and last time i checked a GN wasnt a tuner :shock:
