i am chaanging my 80 cutlass back to a 7.5 rear end. it had a 8.5 out of an a body. i have done this swap before and never had much trouble. my old u joint doesnt match now. anyone have a way i can make this work without having dive shaft work done.

other info old rear 70 a body rear/ new rear 81 cutlass non posi/ length on driveshaft is ok

If you have a Gbody driveline and Gbody 7.5 rear end, a Gbody U joint should take care of it. If you have some odd parts combination you may need what's commonly referred to as a conversion joint. They have 2 different dimensions. If you have the cap diameter and width of the driveline and the rear end's yoke, your local parts store should be able to look it up for you.

bring your old ujoint to napa we have a catalog with all measurements in it they will mic it out and find the ujoint that will work for you
