They very well could be, however everyone seems to question the factory lower arms and say that aftermarket are lighter and better and in truth with a good set of bushings the factory ones are in most cases lighter and just as strong. Going back to the statement on dirt track cars pure stocks run stock arms and while they will bend in a wreck there are less failures from abuse then you would think and those are extreme conditions out on the track so it does make me question the value of aftermarket arms. Having said that I have use UMI arms before and can say they are more rigid for sure but is it worth the cost when plating the factory arms is so easy?

the UB Machine lowers have a model that uses screw in ball joints which is a big plus. I had to modify my lowers to weld in a Howe sleeve so I could use screw in ball joints. Press in ball joints only give you one option regarding the height of the ball joint while screw in ball joints give you a few options. Also if you use a tall ball joint the lip on the lowers near the rotor has to be removed so it will not score the rotor, the UB Machine lowers have no lip. As for the UMI arms the OEM do not have the option of Roto Joints.

i think a lot of times it depends on what you're looking to get from an aftermarket control arm,if you're just after something that has a certain look without any geometry change/gain then the market is full of them.they're just copies of a stocker made from tubing. the oe arm desgin is just fine for what most of us are using our rides for.the idea of a fatigued lower ball joint location on an 35+ year old arm under my car is enough for me to look for a replacement though
