UMI designs, manufactures and tests their products so why not ask them in detail what the advantages are of using their front control arms. I use their rear control arms and had the lower one custom made for no more than the cost of the extra part. I like their products and their customer service

Thanks GP.

Our front uppers add caster for straight line stability and are available with tall ball joints to improve the camber gain and contact patch. The upper a-arm does almost all of the geometry improvement. The arm is bushed with Delrin (a hard plastic) and prevents the alignment from changing if you lean on the car during hard driving.

The lower arm has a thick bottom pad to accommodate today's hybrid coilovers which are popular in the industry. Geometry is improved when adding a tall lower ball joint and also these arms are available with poly bushings (softer) or Delrin (firmer, super-precise handling).

All our stuff is made in our building and is raced and tested by us.

Any questions let me know on here or email directly [email protected]

thx

Anibus, some of your links don't work. Do you mean these?

All of these have no control arm bushings, just metal on metal with a grease fitting.

Yes, Speedway is a good place to purchase these. You can also purchase them directly from UB machine. These are a proven design that has been around for years on circle track cars. You buy the control arm and ball joint separately which allows your choice of quality ball joints (Moog vs China ball joint). If you choose to, you can install the taller ball joint which also improves suspension geometry. When I have some time, I will post pics of them installed on my car.

How good are these UB arms for street use with no upper control arm bushings? Its metal on metal with a grease fitting.

We have an adjustable "flat" arm coming out in the next few weeks. Our A-body version is selling and performing well. It will be an SPC alternative.

UB arms are popular but they may not offer all the comfort of a UMI arm. Good product, just not the application intended.

A real eye opener. First time I have ever heard about these guys. Thanks much for the link!

thinking about getting umi front upper and lower control arms and was wondering if anyone has them and what they think of them.

I have UMI rear lowers on my ride. They work and look good. Make sure you get a set with roto joints on one end.

Most of the front upper control arms on the market are overpriced IMO. I went with tubular UB machine and would highly recommend them. UB machine is the manufacturer. Speedway markets them for the circle track guys and they are very reasonably priced. I bought mine from Speedway motors and have been very happy with them. When you order, make sure you tell the sales guy you are not running your car on a circle track. The LH arm has a funky camber angle designed specifically for circle track racing. With that said, you need to buy (2) RH control arms and you just flip one upside down for the LH side. They are symmetrically opposite so flipping one upside down works fine. They are quality pieces, they look good, fit great and take weight off your front end.

I have to admit, before I bought them I was concerned with their strength. When you compare the bulk and weight of a stock, stamped steel control arm it makes you wonder. I posted on turbobuick.com looking for input and got a lot of positive feedback from the GN guys. Some of them responded saying they have been catching air on launch and bouncing the front end with no issues. Others said they were in front end collisions with no issues.

This may help.....
